Today I thought that I would have a little fun with some Action Wobble Springs. I love these little 'do-dads', and am always looking for ways to use them. Don't worry if you haven't got any, here is a great tutorial for making your own <a href="http://forum.make-the-cut.com/discussion/12203/making-your-own-wobble-springs">Make your own wobble springs</a>.<br />
<br />
I have <a href="http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com/products/The-Fat-Lady.html">this</a> wonderful image from Mo Manning, and I think she is just 'crying out' for an Action Wobble spring. This is what I did with her.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ44xH7NDKlrLhXKMvo6sqWj1vNlpPPmDJ469AHJbYowevR4Dd-gamL30BQY3AcaWaMaaZLiTWB7WcDLwxoR7aJVrfpEPRmfY9lAu58NDY3JDbZ_6zic3G8xv-g91e3Q7-jkWRny7OGjo/s1600/IMG_1765.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ44xH7NDKlrLhXKMvo6sqWj1vNlpPPmDJ469AHJbYowevR4Dd-gamL30BQY3AcaWaMaaZLiTWB7WcDLwxoR7aJVrfpEPRmfY9lAu58NDY3JDbZ_6zic3G8xv-g91e3Q7-jkWRny7OGjo/s400/IMG_1765.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I colored her with ProMarkers, and cut her out - separating her body from her legs. I then stuck the legs to the card base, put an Action Wobble Spring on her body and positioned her so that her body slightly overlapped her legs. The sentiment is from stamp set called 'Life is Short' (The Angel Company.) Click on the image below to see her in action, sorry the video is awful quality.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dxp0Jb628PDv1qYA8sGys-khFrJKcaX3AAzvjVVvXt7KwVhEasTTC77FCimm83IpKJ7-vRc8233WJhUm0BN1w' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So there you have it, I hope I have inspired you to 'get your wobble on'. I would love to see any projects you make - just use the linky tool below.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have some blog candy to give away - a box of Action Wobble Springs, and few more surprise goodies. All you have to do is leave a comment and post your 'wobble' project below. I will randomly select a winner and post on the blog Monday 18th June.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Until next time.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Hi everyone! Kymberlee here again from <a href="http://www.thepapermidwife.com/" target="_blank">The Paper Midwife</a>. I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend. I am visiting my daughters (and grandsons) along with their Coast Guard husbands. Going to cook them all a nice dinner tonight to show my appreciation for their service. Thankful to all the service men and women who have proudly served and remembering those who gave everything for my freedoms.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today I thought I would do a little tutorial about coloring with your alcohol markers. I happen to own all the Copic Sketch markers but the one thing I continually hear is " but I don't have enough markers to color like that" well I'm here to tell you that YOU CAN! To illustrate my point I to a simple image from Mo's digital pencil and colored it with only THREE. Markers.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
By allowing your ink to dry between applications and blending colors you can achieve fantastic results.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguktN9gP4dsToo9pLuGvteZgIsV4W3SM_4WextNgLjVwxtnOyAdnihcefi28bAM-6wcXFbmd7_mfj7fHNGapGM4UmtwyXk7zGy9fskWG-KYaD7qrBm1Cj6W4Onsv4rYgU7c2tqcuEaDoKX/s640/blogger-image-500337138.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguktN9gP4dsToo9pLuGvteZgIsV4W3SM_4WextNgLjVwxtnOyAdnihcefi28bAM-6wcXFbmd7_mfj7fHNGapGM4UmtwyXk7zGy9fskWG-KYaD7qrBm1Cj6W4Onsv4rYgU7c2tqcuEaDoKX/s200/blogger-image-500337138.jpg" width="167" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started by laying down my E02 for shadows </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhz8G2HwxYNTeqGtpMiGUhhyphenhyphengUePRFbXsSo7VJI78RRsJrHyzgRaou2Q8Ym9B4gebl8v8n4UPlRDaHmc2amb-nUwg1A9T6FhsSUaCt7BcxrgWBLlPAO6jEnNySd-EaJHlLfLW28lCCbrZrq/s640/blogger-image--1102934111.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhz8G2HwxYNTeqGtpMiGUhhyphenhyphengUePRFbXsSo7VJI78RRsJrHyzgRaou2Q8Ym9B4gebl8v8n4UPlRDaHmc2amb-nUwg1A9T6FhsSUaCt7BcxrgWBLlPAO6jEnNySd-EaJHlLfLW28lCCbrZrq/s320/blogger-image--1102934111.jpg" width="240" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I used my E40 the color I chose for the skin tone </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2YaxLzrg0pipkYAsoVqZ1SuZUB6YfY2a8vPSDIqmm-Mc6YLZncDyO-8WzXMvD_jFiHgwLuXoqUMXAqn1aXMRse4TZURGT44Ahsn12dRdj8wnYvl-wUxHbTGOJ17egIXLEp-bpbTR5osNl/s640/blogger-image-1939702868.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2YaxLzrg0pipkYAsoVqZ1SuZUB6YfY2a8vPSDIqmm-Mc6YLZncDyO-8WzXMvD_jFiHgwLuXoqUMXAqn1aXMRse4TZURGT44Ahsn12dRdj8wnYvl-wUxHbTGOJ17egIXLEp-bpbTR5osNl/s320/blogger-image-1939702868.jpg" width="240" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I then used Y13 for the accent color while the ink was drying on the skin tone. I kept going back over the areas I wanted more depth letting the ink dry in between, I added a little E02 to the beak with the Y13 and used O02 on the shell diffusing it with the colorless blender. Finally adding some Y13 in splotches to give the yellow some "texture"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My last step was to add a bit of the E40 under the egg for depth </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1MnUo3QFTpDNqVDJQXN67LCV12rg9l2SK_MgR9SbnlrQlHjDsAfvI46OS6BbH6wkYThZ9hGKjMXNJUjm-7dxEg_j9FCtY8CANPeIuaP2so0uBT_L2MjJphZZHKCttSrijPwQEMW_cukpj/s1600/blogger-image-761691730.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1MnUo3QFTpDNqVDJQXN67LCV12rg9l2SK_MgR9SbnlrQlHjDsAfvI46OS6BbH6wkYThZ9hGKjMXNJUjm-7dxEg_j9FCtY8CANPeIuaP2so0uBT_L2MjJphZZHKCttSrijPwQEMW_cukpj/s400/blogger-image-761691730.jpg" width="377" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: xx-small;">(The picture is blurry because I am posting from my daughter's and didn't have my watermark) </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>There you have it - an image colored with just three colors and a bit of blender.</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Your challenge - try to color an image with just three colors like I did. Use layers to give your image depth. If you don't use alcohol markers to color, then make a project using three colors so you can play along too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Thanks for catching up with me here. This is my last scheduled Guest post but I may see you again here sometime in the future.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Thanks to Caroline and Allison for letting me come and play :)</div>

<br />
Michelle here from <a href="http://ladyofleisureink.blogspot.com/">Lady Of Leisure Ink</a>, wishing you all a Happy Mothers Day. My project today uses a new file called 'Rose in Bloom' from <a href="http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Rose-In-Bloom-Template-Set-and-Cutting-Files.html">The Digi Chick</a>. These flowers were super simple to put together (the designer gives great step by step instructions for their assembly.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqfkLECaqxOLQEw-T-BaKnYro0RzJAkkUXojHoa6AttUyTJcQO9oKVsUH4AANT1iAytXu_xYygMoB3SaFOx-4QWmmNrhD8A-xjPlDqhG0MDm_JUMAM3Wuz0xcXH40YeRnzz6_-KkqOHjY/s1600/IMG_1687.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqfkLECaqxOLQEw-T-BaKnYro0RzJAkkUXojHoa6AttUyTJcQO9oKVsUH4AANT1iAytXu_xYygMoB3SaFOx-4QWmmNrhD8A-xjPlDqhG0MDm_JUMAM3Wuz0xcXH40YeRnzz6_-KkqOHjY/s400/IMG_1687.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
The photo doesn't show it very well but the roses are all sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Iridescent Pearl) - here is a close up.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjob5Rso8eSeyt1wUaecWK0zh7vUyJDUKsvakTzhcHDjGXbAviFxkKfvw-3W-wDbtQH_i5vePTsKgRhRr_d5oTfhOqLnxtmQ5tcoY18r2F1UjGcjsnZeg7WEJArigrVrY7btUw5Y-eoPbc/s1600/IMG_1689.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjob5Rso8eSeyt1wUaecWK0zh7vUyJDUKsvakTzhcHDjGXbAviFxkKfvw-3W-wDbtQH_i5vePTsKgRhRr_d5oTfhOqLnxtmQ5tcoY18r2F1UjGcjsnZeg7WEJArigrVrY7btUw5Y-eoPbc/s400/IMG_1689.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I created the sentiment on my computer, along with some paper from my stash and a piece of Kraft card stock run through a corrugater - I made a 'belly band'. My candle looked at bit lonesome so I added some other goodies.<br />

So your challenge is to use any flowers in a project and post using the linky button below. I would love to see what you come up with.<br />

Today I discovered that clam shell punches make great petals.<br />
<br />
So in honor of Mother's Day this Sunday, here's a rose for all you moms.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBF9QFsGE275o7Hf99MIWKMYfMYHEDi2c_WsWQEFz1Nom_ychsntxucavd4dEN_3eviheeaohwJR8eAWaKHzcejcunsuLS20pAlBN05JUOqxWstdjfV5-BOrB-lcLUeBBFZTQrJfgEBI8C/s1600/iPhone+011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBF9QFsGE275o7Hf99MIWKMYfMYHEDi2c_WsWQEFz1Nom_ychsntxucavd4dEN_3eviheeaohwJR8eAWaKHzcejcunsuLS20pAlBN05JUOqxWstdjfV5-BOrB-lcLUeBBFZTQrJfgEBI8C/s320/iPhone+011.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
A stack of nicer paper place mats from a local restaurant happened my way this week and I figured I could do something with them. Think stronger than your typical paper place mat with a nice linen texture. It's still pretty thin and didn't like my newer Cricut mat, so I pulled out the clam shell punch and it worked perfectly.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjC4JpoLQMjAaaP8jWdVGmdQfvW4B7Dda2gmkvrJWMX2qougD4k1GN7NITMmPC-eFpkZJ-6LEDW3iBrkERUg6f2463oLAyN0kjjHl97EKleusToi1qgPtWv4wDDvuHIc9hJJOQHOsgqOCNi/s1600/iPhone+012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjC4JpoLQMjAaaP8jWdVGmdQfvW4B7Dda2gmkvrJWMX2qougD4k1GN7NITMmPC-eFpkZJ-6LEDW3iBrkERUg6f2463oLAyN0kjjHl97EKleusToi1qgPtWv4wDDvuHIc9hJJOQHOsgqOCNi/s320/iPhone+012.JPG" width="239" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">You can see a bit of the texture in this photo.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I then just started rolling them to create the center and layering the outer petals, adding a little water along the way to curl them. I loved working with this paper because it would quickly absorb the water I brushed on and would dry fairly quickly as well.<br />

<br />
I rarely buy card crafting magazines, because I usually find that I like several cards in the edition but never have the supplies to make them. When I was shopping the other week I picked up a copy of Paper Crafts Stamp It 3 Ways - because one of the cards on the front 'caught my eye'. Sure enough I did not have the rubber stamp needed for this, and despite several emails to the stamp company (who have not replied,) it doesn't look like I'll be getting it anytime soon. So I decided to go a different route and break out a stencil.<br />
<br />
Here is the stencil I used.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBLZxygZX-JfMjm0TplRqa0VM_eHFnP4vIEJ48UsCieGGAPky44fNpLAnFFwgrsUXOW552Glhh4bnplaU49_KUoX6JTf92uutc8Rr04hMuAXOjO4s20xsPkfa1PMvAl_PysVnZR6MvL9k/s1600/IMG_1580.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBLZxygZX-JfMjm0TplRqa0VM_eHFnP4vIEJ48UsCieGGAPky44fNpLAnFFwgrsUXOW552Glhh4bnplaU49_KUoX6JTf92uutc8Rr04hMuAXOjO4s20xsPkfa1PMvAl_PysVnZR6MvL9k/s320/IMG_1580.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Then I reached for my distress stamp pad and dauber.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg28TKYYlnLmLovEsJcLVGDvvFMt0ymWK4B97u2B9zSWMi6JqxqcEypPTdTbSErBRPLhEYTQozACYyY4F2qHWqOvrGt6FK5F6YfhUUJ2BtlC5JmGJY1W_N2ykQ35Xy1CHyY9XdMcp5wxlE/s1600/IMG_1581.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg28TKYYlnLmLovEsJcLVGDvvFMt0ymWK4B97u2B9zSWMi6JqxqcEypPTdTbSErBRPLhEYTQozACYyY4F2qHWqOvrGt6FK5F6YfhUUJ2BtlC5JmGJY1W_N2ykQ35Xy1CHyY9XdMcp5wxlE/s320/IMG_1581.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsYL2DFaRGtS_8uK8EnkuqhjRrQI6gP6RuGgh_jsFkgr6ivSz6e8E9KBDdTSG1Vt67_UvrUv8U9l5jlDDvmhlhV_8rZxHCWQ_LHoqH_whR8zq35A25oXkNM94M7Yz20vQIGTYI-6GGFvM/s1600/IMG_1582.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsYL2DFaRGtS_8uK8EnkuqhjRrQI6gP6RuGgh_jsFkgr6ivSz6e8E9KBDdTSG1Vt67_UvrUv8U9l5jlDDvmhlhV_8rZxHCWQ_LHoqH_whR8zq35A25oXkNM94M7Yz20vQIGTYI-6GGFvM/s320/IMG_1582.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div> The finished stenciling looked like this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWIkovvX8a9CmDrpCk43e0y0hDv5RQvbNgCy3cv8o-zkjq_lCszXvnq8AjYOKEqNZRSwncPOFX0kQcw-5ommA8Uq_hG-IRgk-5roEvbTau4wXbsnrAsfA83D92IboS4Wr_Tlt3V4kOTGc/s1600/IMG_1583.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWIkovvX8a9CmDrpCk43e0y0hDv5RQvbNgCy3cv8o-zkjq_lCszXvnq8AjYOKEqNZRSwncPOFX0kQcw-5ommA8Uq_hG-IRgk-5roEvbTau4wXbsnrAsfA83D92IboS4Wr_Tlt3V4kOTGc/s320/IMG_1583.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Not the most exciting, is it? But after taking my paper cutter to it, adding a Stampin' Up stamp (Sweet Talk) and a little bit of ribbon - here is the finished card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimavEMJ3llBANl-cAEya0ZpHAPdQg-mXRLFfqVrM4DUzv-1kBvAmPbjbMdxTBNOOOab4y17b4LlPImFusz453NvxkV9EoT1-kspDWdN9LbAR68F4pY0p3NXu6lvkCqhbFkXN_PidHb7Ck/s1600/IMG_1585.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimavEMJ3llBANl-cAEya0ZpHAPdQg-mXRLFfqVrM4DUzv-1kBvAmPbjbMdxTBNOOOab4y17b4LlPImFusz453NvxkV9EoT1-kspDWdN9LbAR68F4pY0p3NXu6lvkCqhbFkXN_PidHb7Ck/s320/IMG_1585.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>A simple card - just in time for my wedding anniversary.<br />
<br />
I hope I have encouraged you to dig through your supplies and dust off those old stencils to create - we'd love to see, please use the linky tool to share with us.<br />
<br />
Until next time (if they'll have me back!)<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Good morning everyone and welcome to your almost weekend! Today is my day to post at the <a href="http://papercraftweekendchallenge.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Paper Craft Weekend Challenge</a> blog. I have a vinyl project to share with you today! In keeping with this baby shower my sister is putting soon, she forwarded a few pregnancy pictures of the expecting Mom and asked me to work some magic with them. I decided to customize a frame with vinyl. First, I have to tell you that I printed the photos using my new wide format printer and I am in LOVE with it. Epson Artisan 1430 for those of you in the market for one - you won't be disappointed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I used my Silhouette Cameo and studio software to design the frame. One thing that I learned recently about the software is that you can import images into your work space mat and size and tweak them like you would any other image. Having the actual picture on the work space goes a long way in helping me decide if I do or don't like an element, it's placement etc. I get to see how everything will look when it's done before I make a single cut. I have been doing this more and more and I have been amazed at how much time I am saving by laying the entire sketch out in the design program first. Here is what my file looks like after I completed the design. You will note that none of words or flourishes are reversed or mirrored. That's because I used a floating frame for this project. If was using a regular frame I would have had to mirror or reverse the images so they would appear correctly. Floating frames are an easy way around that problem and especially nice to use if you want more space to work with.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnEqCbLrjlmCSRbn6glN813cxUR1g5qkuvn5hnIJHRs5EuamqAtCaX3pWwHTwfKlByb3wHcrAy9w2dKPuRYjR_lDHPGZLyqqnFC9NMwRA-IySaP5wq1X2itRCuLUT9T_k9gK1GABAPCpY/s1600/IMG_2446.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnEqCbLrjlmCSRbn6glN813cxUR1g5qkuvn5hnIJHRs5EuamqAtCaX3pWwHTwfKlByb3wHcrAy9w2dKPuRYjR_lDHPGZLyqqnFC9NMwRA-IySaP5wq1X2itRCuLUT9T_k9gK1GABAPCpY/s640/IMG_2446.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="color: #0b5394;">And here is the finished frame. I really love how this project turned out!</span></i></b></div>

Your challenge for this weekend, should you choose to accept it, is to pull out some vinyl and create a project using it. It can be a frame, a t-shirt, some wall art, whatever. Vinyl is very easy to work with and generally makes a project go very quickly. Thanks again to Allison and Caroline for letting me guest design today. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave me a message or contact me at my blog - Sabrina from <a href="http://sabrioletdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/03/new-journey.html">Sabriolet Designs</a>. Have a great weekend everyone!</div>Dayna Sabrinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01231781457396773837noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-946232980009525172.post-29747791452167874402012-03-11T00:00:00.014-05:002012-03-11T18:31:14.493-04:00Use Your ScrapsThanks Allison and Caroline for once again allowing me to come and play at your blog. I will admit upfront that this post is purely self-indulgent, because it is about one of my favorite things - Paper Piecing. I think one of the reasons I like it so much is that it enables us to use those scraps of patterned paper that are so small they really should have been put in the trash, but you just can't bring yourself to do it.<br /><br />First you will need a stamped image with an element on it that you are able to cut out easily, and then your scraps.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcarrADKdaYojkms4qGzRtGOmQLDUk5TGPIbrUa6sYG0s29lGKDIm6jPctZNWiGQWAhwWn9ReGSc1-uhpJwmamiXSQTXbgPJWZ8nq4yI-VvJkUfhGPP6OLXjYSzIFfp7sXRoPIqN-kz2M/s1600/IMG_1323.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcarrADKdaYojkms4qGzRtGOmQLDUk5TGPIbrUa6sYG0s29lGKDIm6jPctZNWiGQWAhwWn9ReGSc1-uhpJwmamiXSQTXbgPJWZ8nq4yI-VvJkUfhGPP6OLXjYSzIFfp7sXRoPIqN-kz2M/s400/IMG_1323.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />I chose this image because I felt that the star would be great to highlight in a piece of patterned paper. Ink up your stamp and stamp the part of the image you want on the patterned paper.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHPIiHlQ9bU_I45i7n9RHEaRbBpXuF_xPmtFBlb_cg_p3LfnsBncCmkpFKuye1tafCMs6Ilt-323a90N_m1hTgEE6KldDKcLBPWCVtUHHN4cTJHEylJY-s7EVxrdHZKjEpt-r3837V9ag/s1600/IMG_1325.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHPIiHlQ9bU_I45i7n9RHEaRbBpXuF_xPmtFBlb_cg_p3LfnsBncCmkpFKuye1tafCMs6Ilt-323a90N_m1hTgEE6KldDKcLBPWCVtUHHN4cTJHEylJY-s7EVxrdHZKjEpt-r3837V9ag/s400/IMG_1325.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><br /><br />Next cut out the image - the only tricky part here was cutting around the hand.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglc9HiJt5fxMm1mV0xeFR_cMwO4hJFrG4u-IkJBMiitztL8Fi6WjM48rf8-hlqHLazjWyNEKqVmUB8c-uedVAbrzjH2MhfT3ytq3fYShzIArPByHyvfuLh3ihMDj2FB4C3iVxuIak79-g/s1600/IMG_1326.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglc9HiJt5fxMm1mV0xeFR_cMwO4hJFrG4u-IkJBMiitztL8Fi6WjM48rf8-hlqHLazjWyNEKqVmUB8c-uedVAbrzjH2MhfT3ytq3fYShzIArPByHyvfuLh3ihMDj2FB4C3iVxuIak79-g/s400/IMG_1326.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><br /><br />All that is left to do is color your stamped image, glue your cut-out on top of the original stamped image and assemble your card.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDtJiIaYrI569wCHQW6k65-_vJnHRNSbJyNBe3y2r5ZxL9PW_-ipghz2yDTHx925jaF8YFZTorf4fk6E09sEluFBzlUTov1HykBgg_g_OSp9wtQ1B7z-kAUs1kT4X2FppJopv9rrzBZfE/s1600/IMG_1328.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDtJiIaYrI569wCHQW6k65-_vJnHRNSbJyNBe3y2r5ZxL9PW_-ipghz2yDTHx925jaF8YFZTorf4fk6E09sEluFBzlUTov1HykBgg_g_OSp9wtQ1B7z-kAUs1kT4X2FppJopv9rrzBZfE/s400/IMG_1328.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><br /><br />Of course you don't need to stop with one part of the image, especially when you have so many little scraps to play with.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZ-FbhrTLibvKOfuuTiXV1xCM9wV6NHGP1ppcDN2zPujrqMoGoziwF1rxzgoXe-Inv9TQbz01B_6eK43kVRaeOo3MhPUdedzJLwnyuwGlhhNaNVCPqZZrkWwEWukJXnTk_VJiUPxSvUHQ/s1600/IMG_1330.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZ-FbhrTLibvKOfuuTiXV1xCM9wV6NHGP1ppcDN2zPujrqMoGoziwF1rxzgoXe-Inv9TQbz01B_6eK43kVRaeOo3MhPUdedzJLwnyuwGlhhNaNVCPqZZrkWwEWukJXnTk_VJiUPxSvUHQ/s640/IMG_1330.JPG" width="480" /></a></div><br />I hope I have encouraged you to dig through those scraps and create. Well, a while ago I happened upon <b>Washi tape</b> - it's tape that is kind of like really pretty masking tape...I found an online source and ordered some. I also found sound in my various expeditions to the craft stores. I purchased a bunch - see picture:<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihAnpwZOTuzXCiaEaOkyqR5f8ZOix6jeomeHwCagKAVGjAAHC1SNTw4IJcO38tV50ZUGImdCf0vHtfAQUywZDCKZLUR0GLoCgJ1WCnwbB0p5ntGSeeGqhDkDm4whpDjTQvlorVpZoEG_0/s1600/DSC_0017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihAnpwZOTuzXCiaEaOkyqR5f8ZOix6jeomeHwCagKAVGjAAHC1SNTw4IJcO38tV50ZUGImdCf0vHtfAQUywZDCKZLUR0GLoCgJ1WCnwbB0p5ntGSeeGqhDkDm4whpDjTQvlorVpZoEG_0/s320/DSC_0017.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>I got them home and right into a drawer they went, never to be used! Until today that is. I decided they would make a really cool background for a card. I took a 4 x 6 piece of <b>Dusty Durango</b> from <b>Stampin</b> <b>Up </b> and proceeded to lay the tape diagonally on the paper with a little space in between each pattern:<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJLOlPvxkXhyGB5TRmVxgMvMOjNhIvhjVoAXs-4n4RcVNUSjuk98tqthskgQc5ORfNRA5BVMl7jZzyYlHB_bJU7sOi847dMRXjKEvD-5ObLhS537uu_LFuO92r7uvmRf43Z20vnlHD6YI/s1600/DSC_0019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJLOlPvxkXhyGB5TRmVxgMvMOjNhIvhjVoAXs-4n4RcVNUSjuk98tqthskgQc5ORfNRA5BVMl7jZzyYlHB_bJU7sOi847dMRXjKEvD-5ObLhS537uu_LFuO92r7uvmRf43Z20vnlHD6YI/s320/DSC_0019.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZTa2Z0msynvuSZP32CW5nSC79frIPYrB6R3aU1Jkfr8zOHSDUm6L54jkVoF_5gDBXFXEgd9Diwz1rOIkuhg-WKXPoISlxammz9pxiRvXGc2K8dI2K9dEvm5OnKWFIDu9-PnYl1THnBUc/s1600/DSC_0020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZTa2Z0msynvuSZP32CW5nSC79frIPYrB6R3aU1Jkfr8zOHSDUm6L54jkVoF_5gDBXFXEgd9Diwz1rOIkuhg-WKXPoISlxammz9pxiRvXGc2K8dI2K9dEvm5OnKWFIDu9-PnYl1THnBUc/s320/DSC_0020.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Once I had the whole paper covered, I took my scissors and cut the edges like so: <br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW-caPaHjqCfmAoi6ymuuCks9xfHrQkpZXWGA_veKYfGxEMGY6Ov11oIGuSS9vgXa7JhqH0hen2BZYWG_8TmsMlLgvJt2CSxKgvhnbGyeXd5ntcvakDEFr_shQE3c9hhyphenhyphenC2ZdtVcTokq4/s1600/DSC_0021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW-caPaHjqCfmAoi6ymuuCks9xfHrQkpZXWGA_veKYfGxEMGY6Ov11oIGuSS9vgXa7JhqH0hen2BZYWG_8TmsMlLgvJt2CSxKgvhnbGyeXd5ntcvakDEFr_shQE3c9hhyphenhyphenC2ZdtVcTokq4/s320/DSC_0021.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />Once I got the whole piece cut, I inked the edges with <b>Dusty Durango</b> ink and put glued it to a card base. <br />I have this stamp set from <b>Paper Trey Ink</b> called, <b>Quilter's Sampler.</b> I thought the sentiment went perfectly with the tape measure tape (if you can't read it, it says "friendship is sewn with love and measured by kindness). I stamped the thread spool with the Dusty Durango ink and the sentiment with black ink. Framed that with black paper and popped it up with <b>Stampin Up Dimensionals </b>and voila ` here is the finished project!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq_wbOO5MvT8iuGEg1zsU4VsS1c4Tdq9ekMYYM0I3mCRFl-m8xnA8DM1Iuy9uIvNzd5Egbnilv-U3s9hbUK3wrffsZIxLrRJU_bg9XGURhvcYUGDnGdZyvaZ9ydRsPY4NUHa2GoBmsQ4I/s1600/DSC_0018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq_wbOO5MvT8iuGEg1zsU4VsS1c4Tdq9ekMYYM0I3mCRFl-m8xnA8DM1Iuy9uIvNzd5Egbnilv-U3s9hbUK3wrffsZIxLrRJU_bg9XGURhvcYUGDnGdZyvaZ9ydRsPY4NUHa2GoBmsQ4I/s320/DSC_0018.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><b><br /></b><br /><br />Let's see what you can do with your tape. I'm happy to report that it has been a FABULOUS weekend so far. Hubby and I are celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary. But of course I couldn't leave our readers hanging here so I have a quick project for you. This week is Inspiration week and I decided that it would be a color challenge. <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKMCbXcPCy-0Ju4Bw8ewS7FCXbo0mQL0orRI13OtHXQzLLyREAqywbGriMtG53bVxxeL2ags2wQZ9xjpE4vVAkOyQmUjR74iHLOMBfE_sXyJhfnqdeyb-8HX26_4G1TcGO6cVxpMVS8U6T/s1600/Color+Inspiration.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKMCbXcPCy-0Ju4Bw8ewS7FCXbo0mQL0orRI13OtHXQzLLyREAqywbGriMtG53bVxxeL2ags2wQZ9xjpE4vVAkOyQmUjR74iHLOMBfE_sXyJhfnqdeyb-8HX26_4G1TcGO6cVxpMVS8U6T/s320/Color+Inspiration.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5710674278341438082" border="0" /></a><br />A couple friends and I are doing a letter swap so we can have a piece of each other in our craft room and when I saw the colors above I knew I needed to use those for my letters. And wouldn't you know I HATE the color orange but I love pink and orange together ... go figure. This is Pam from <a href="http://papillondigitaldesigns.com/">Papillondigitaldesigns</a> today on <a href="http://papercraftweekendchallenge.blogspot.com/">Papercraft Weekend Challenge</a>.<br />
Thank you Allison and Caroline for having me as your designer today.<br />
It's a bit cold in Texas but warm colorful spring is almost here! And nothing says spring like flowers and butterflies. So today on Theme Friday of course I had to make something with both.<br />
Not quite spring yet so I chose not to do very colorful.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg97epnHDyoDBxe1qIaeKGfitBKq6RE1O7topm6ObBS_j4rvXy1bh2_W3hILPHkHi-ZnziVZC-CHrTnPoLTEoakzmM93mUJiwFrGkOKzRqPQG6HQe1r2zSbk1X-V7d77BriEYTQzgSMGyA/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg97epnHDyoDBxe1qIaeKGfitBKq6RE1O7topm6ObBS_j4rvXy1bh2_W3hILPHkHi-ZnziVZC-CHrTnPoLTEoakzmM93mUJiwFrGkOKzRqPQG6HQe1r2zSbk1X-V7d77BriEYTQzgSMGyA/s400/3.jpg" width="326" /></a></div><br />
This was cut with silhouette sd. and the card is just 4 x 4 inches. For intricate cuts silhouette is the way to go!<br />
<br />
A peek at the silhouette file<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjITpHqFmoN8GzVJMICQEIkZarjwlbB-mOPKxMQiB6QPSW4GN-dPO3Bwg-IHySkSKhRo0XYt2ljKyn4mhNln4x3wnW412_hK8wZ2oauYF7a8v_04PAaKGxyHThZBID8m5YSU7B-RHrlEL8/s1600/1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="291" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjITpHqFmoN8GzVJMICQEIkZarjwlbB-mOPKxMQiB6QPSW4GN-dPO3Bwg-IHySkSKhRo0XYt2ljKyn4mhNln4x3wnW412_hK8wZ2oauYF7a8v_04PAaKGxyHThZBID8m5YSU7B-RHrlEL8/s400/1.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
The card base is just 2 rounded rectangles welded together. The intricate butterfly lace is a design from silhouette online store - <a href="http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com/v2/viewShape.aspx?id=22873">http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com/v2/viewShape.aspx?id=22873</a><br />
Now I did not want to cut the lace out So I first inserted the mat and used a silhouette pen to trace the butterfly on to a kraft cardstock. While doing this make sure to set the card base to <strong>"no cut</strong>" (in the scissor or cut window) and just the butterfly lace to<strong> "cut" .</strong> Then after drawing the silhouette goes back to original position . DO NOT UNLOAD THE MAT. But just change your marker to blade - I used the red blade at settings 3 & 33 (ie depth and speed) - and then cut. <br />
Next I created another file which I cut with white cardstock - again using the marker for just the sentiment "Thank you".<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpZViryfu4w3t5c6PhdbK_YP7ByDWV6Cv_wUdZMrqEhvVuWqUSBBpXfQgotDlaw3y_F9HnvnQf2mYZTFL9j4QNbHaOzCutuuNtPDS9aLCR9v8lbxsaeJBwAhP5hgb9p7egt60QXSKLGBA/s1600/2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="297" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpZViryfu4w3t5c6PhdbK_YP7ByDWV6Cv_wUdZMrqEhvVuWqUSBBpXfQgotDlaw3y_F9HnvnQf2mYZTFL9j4QNbHaOzCutuuNtPDS9aLCR9v8lbxsaeJBwAhP5hgb9p7egt60QXSKLGBA/s400/2.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />
Then I stickled the butterfly lace design on the front with diamond stickles. I colored parts of the scalloped butterfly doily with copic markers and stickled and blinged them. I also colored just the leaf in the oval leaf frame and just a dab of color in the flower corner (butterfly doily - <a href="http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com/v2/viewShape.aspx?id=18102">http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com/v2/viewShape.aspx?id=18102</a> ; oval leaf frame - <a href="http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com/v2/viewShape.aspx?id=13873">http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com/v2/viewShape.aspx?id=13873</a> & flower corner - <a href="http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com/v2/viewShape.aspx?id=3057">http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com/v2/viewShape.aspx?id=3057</a> ) . I did cut a plain circle out thinking I would mat the scalloped circle but then decided not to.<br />
<br />
Inside of the card<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBeAZCnbRAFKF05t8TNFU7vtIOFEDXH895RzL5YuDsA6hmujpc-FC_pFGSaRDFVIhf2wgtb41feRuMZO80y1uH-sT228_ltqepOAaxjzsbfQE1Lf7oION_bZKzQKDDdlMSU8c46XqoAp0/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBeAZCnbRAFKF05t8TNFU7vtIOFEDXH895RzL5YuDsA6hmujpc-FC_pFGSaRDFVIhf2wgtb41feRuMZO80y1uH-sT228_ltqepOAaxjzsbfQE1Lf7oION_bZKzQKDDdlMSU8c46XqoAp0/s400/4.jpg" width="351" /></a></div><br />
<br />
To just give an idea about the intricacy of the cuts here is the card next to a bic ball point pen (not the thicker gel pen but the smaller ball point pen - yep ! I am laying it on really thick aren't I ? But I just love the cameo and SD so just had to do it! Impressed ?)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxyR1LINctjMUWNgNzrjhgh5bSRiTdFyVwWqxG7p1jcSwboppyPOmH1YV8uW84Mu46Tm5GWgXOf4e13TC39EftfSwVuJGx43VkLrfSYakTBIzl5PKJ43L25DAdKeEKXvQH5TeAjMU2x2c/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxyR1LINctjMUWNgNzrjhgh5bSRiTdFyVwWqxG7p1jcSwboppyPOmH1YV8uW84Mu46Tm5GWgXOf4e13TC39EftfSwVuJGx43VkLrfSYakTBIzl5PKJ43L25DAdKeEKXvQH5TeAjMU2x2c/s400/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
Oh ! I added some pearls both the half pearl sticker and also used the perfect pearl pen apart from the stickles. I wanted to use those Candi that Caroline enabled but decided to save it and go with pearls as candi's were a bit large for this card.<br />
Your challenge for this weekend is to include flowers and butterflies in your project.<br />

I prepared this post about a week ago, before I knew what Diane was going to post, and although we both chose to use some bling I think this post will follow on nicely from hers.<br />
<br />
We've all got them, probably lots of them, because when we buy them they usually come it big packs! The 'them' I am referring to are gems - the clear type. Mini round gems and faceted gems, I have a whole bunch. But you don't always want clear ones for your project, so how about coloring them for yourself using alcohol inks?<br />
<br />
All you need are the gems, some alcohol inks, paper towel and a little patience.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis_R66JAyCfBExpm66lPUgySXRPAo58czMCjyy5YF90L31ttBGTiQr5B8fnjuDu7suDinm5WiRIGP90FVQK98LefDitbAQ6rMmDmKB2LuNTki-m2uSBbssuYM2xfW4yPxmFvKUeOvUuj8/s1600/IMG_1110.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis_R66JAyCfBExpm66lPUgySXRPAo58czMCjyy5YF90L31ttBGTiQr5B8fnjuDu7suDinm5WiRIGP90FVQK98LefDitbAQ6rMmDmKB2LuNTki-m2uSBbssuYM2xfW4yPxmFvKUeOvUuj8/s400/IMG_1110.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><br />
Take the gems and lay them on a piece of kitchen towel (use a craft mat or something else underneath to protect your work surface.) Then take you alcohol ink and drop a small amount on the gem - you only need a very small amount, the ink will spread over your gem.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjozxkGPVZ1WXhQinYyOkWhoq8HvKBTXDmP2rVczfxSaIqgSrCpX5Yx_gcfz5GURNAZdvYSTvUo6qCalZYMQYONwgX1z6EdvQf2xManE44RoAYCeE0y_1sZ8jcQUcLWRIAK5rfaJisKp0M/s1600/IMG_1111.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjozxkGPVZ1WXhQinYyOkWhoq8HvKBTXDmP2rVczfxSaIqgSrCpX5Yx_gcfz5GURNAZdvYSTvUo6qCalZYMQYONwgX1z6EdvQf2xManE44RoAYCeE0y_1sZ8jcQUcLWRIAK5rfaJisKp0M/s400/IMG_1111.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh58CM0mS9F5q6LihhVkWtcxhlWoWwJiIsk4l7N1ZBMkTr2Q1tadBpa_L3uVYUCeU-dKqc-sjr995V7H65Y4JSKd7quAJvH7CZKiJ0bg73rrGCopQQ18y940AFwqOSDwHSTZP2w_bqWIgQ/s1600/IMG_1112.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh58CM0mS9F5q6LihhVkWtcxhlWoWwJiIsk4l7N1ZBMkTr2Q1tadBpa_L3uVYUCeU-dKqc-sjr995V7H65Y4JSKd7quAJvH7CZKiJ0bg73rrGCopQQ18y940AFwqOSDwHSTZP2w_bqWIgQ/s400/IMG_1112.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
It really is as simple as that. Now this is where the patience kicks in, as you have to wait for the gems to dry before using them on your project.<br />
<br />
Here are some others I colored using the clear faceted gems.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY9TSFKREsgDHPTazFuksv4tfodZbDq1FeFtq8YHkNIBfjLy-XAY21BeBYaFVlyE8ABGhIFYp7m0_MDe_CCX8bIGB7IfvBcaD_JHMaAKYyxOB2vSN7iFd9-aKqnZfmYQ7CUlQUY_7_myQ/s1600/IMG_1113.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY9TSFKREsgDHPTazFuksv4tfodZbDq1FeFtq8YHkNIBfjLy-XAY21BeBYaFVlyE8ABGhIFYp7m0_MDe_CCX8bIGB7IfvBcaD_JHMaAKYyxOB2vSN7iFd9-aKqnZfmYQ7CUlQUY_7_myQ/s400/IMG_1113.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
The finished project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7l2kRO2DI65jf4NYTX8kP3g0Jk6AqGxlVo64kz8cHDCpEewVR7ngA3MuObskCrEwnWrT1fvNZ8vAfiXpJ7HUhqt7kb8SFMR9vW9Y-ymE_ZywJD_cCDS0K9jXNA5b8Yvj9Wq0uE-lSc6E/s1600/IMG_1116.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7l2kRO2DI65jf4NYTX8kP3g0Jk6AqGxlVo64kz8cHDCpEewVR7ngA3MuObskCrEwnWrT1fvNZ8vAfiXpJ7HUhqt7kb8SFMR9vW9Y-ymE_ZywJD_cCDS0K9jXNA5b8Yvj9Wq0uE-lSc6E/s400/IMG_1116.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhy_ehjt7jWsCRr1BgmuVy-iQ7hiHYtoUY1QEQuhGlEDaGEXlA5LE8glfbZYPtopF3bMVU69uItyvnHlTEMtKxc8sUTbclCrHSqoiRkIWsjj9BjzMQDeHGpAsV9lmpjLB0umSQjrHPoJys/s1600/IMG_1118.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhy_ehjt7jWsCRr1BgmuVy-iQ7hiHYtoUY1QEQuhGlEDaGEXlA5LE8glfbZYPtopF3bMVU69uItyvnHlTEMtKxc8sUTbclCrHSqoiRkIWsjj9BjzMQDeHGpAsV9lmpjLB0umSQjrHPoJys/s400/IMG_1118.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><br />
<br />
So grab those inks and get coloring. As always, thanks to Caroline and Allison for inviting me to play and, thank you for stopping by - see you next time. <br />

I know, I know, they're too pretty to use, but think of all the new pretty bling you can replace it with.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsV0sMLkdpIEM0wIpI6Lg2cd5MQVQi6H6_sQ7SZzBOD2Pfx4hPkBFT9S9K_ReUDb__vMvt3R4zwZdmzdxAFbAJrGZoAVDBjbJV4JqGkKCtdlL7HlWBBcQiWNzcZO5XDT6wcBE3asF7szOC/s1600/iPhone+042.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsV0sMLkdpIEM0wIpI6Lg2cd5MQVQi6H6_sQ7SZzBOD2Pfx4hPkBFT9S9K_ReUDb__vMvt3R4zwZdmzdxAFbAJrGZoAVDBjbJV4JqGkKCtdlL7HlWBBcQiWNzcZO5XDT6wcBE3asF7szOC/s320/iPhone+042.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><br />
<br />
Before I begin, there are a couple of things I learned that I wanted to pass on, all under the umbrella of "not all bling are created equal":<br />
<br />
<ul><li>Some off brand gems have adhesive that drys out and gets hard, so use them early or prepare to use your own adhesive.</li>
<li>You cannot always mix and match white pearls across manufacturers. Some are more white while others are more ivory, and if you find a really cheap brand, the color might chip off altogether.</li>
<li>Rhinestone swirls: some have adhesive that keeps it all in shape, some are kept as separate stones and you have to recreate the swirl yourself (I love swirls that stay together).</li>
<li>It is possible to use too much bling, especially if the paper already has foil on it.</li>
</ul><div>I have an assortment of Recollections, Colorbok, K&Company, and Darice, among others.</div><div>Now let's see what we can do. If you've been to my blog, you'll know that we're preparing for a masquerade-themed school auction, so I've been on a mask-making kick. </tbody></table><div>The swirls worked well for this project, particularly if you have ones small enough to fit around the eyes on the pointed mask. The last one I had to make myself. Now it may seem like I used a lot of bling, but the first three masks came from the same package of Recollections rhinestones, ribbon, and lace (used on another project) and less than half of the Colorbok hearts, so my tub of bling is still filled to the top. Of course, whether I'm willing to part with my favorites of this collection to use as decorations...now that's another story.</div><div><br />

Kymberlee posting here today from <a href="http://www.thepapermidwife.com/">The Paper Midwife</a>. It's the First Tuesday of the month here at PCWC so you know what THAT means....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: #990000; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">TECHNIQUE TUESDAY!!!</span></strong></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am so excited to share with everyone here today in my very first Technique Tuesday Guest Designer post! I can't thank Caroline and Allison enough for this opportunity. LOVE you guys <3</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Okay enough with the sappy stuff and on to what I have for you today...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I took a Copics basic and intermediate certification class back in September and since then I have been a voracious MONSTER learning all I can and playing, experimenting, and playing some more. One of the things I was really interested in was realistic coloring, more specifically making photos into line drawings to color. Now I am no pro photographer but I happen to have a daughter that IS and as an added bonus, she also has some pretty adorable subjects that I wanted to color. BOOYA!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I struggled trying to figure out HOW to convert my photos using Photoshop but rather than me making this long post even longer I am going to give you a CHEAT and HUGE shortcut to circumvent the learning curve. You can find a step by step tutorial from photoshopbuzz.com <a href="http://www.photoshopbuzz.com/658/change-photo-to-line-drawing/">HERE</a> or just download the <strong>FREE ACTION </strong><a href="http://www.photoshopbuzz.com/1087/free-photoshop-action/">HERE</a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now that you know how to turn you favorite into a line drawing, you may need to tweak it some using your contrast adjustment layer to lighten or darken the photo depending on how much guidance you want in your coloring. I went for broke and just wanted the major landmarks so I took this original photo of my grandson "Roo":</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgalnPcHIh1-9viLOYvgrZFQ7TXs4b83L-r0F1XcbjoGMct56cqDwgNdpaKWyQ7H-ddEoV8WoPkcdn6F_nSrPJTgE6Si5WuxNMgHLB4I5F-ekq8x3IbGPC9MZoq2MxZVJsf7YmV0Sri1vc/s1600/379786_10150407100221587_728386586_8984164_1075361398_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgalnPcHIh1-9viLOYvgrZFQ7TXs4b83L-r0F1XcbjoGMct56cqDwgNdpaKWyQ7H-ddEoV8WoPkcdn6F_nSrPJTgE6Si5WuxNMgHLB4I5F-ekq8x3IbGPC9MZoq2MxZVJsf7YmV0Sri1vc/s400/379786_10150407100221587_728386586_8984164_1075361398_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Stripped it down to THIS:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0CD7nO6Okc4HHdt8KOqHKHWju9olf6sfuEcXuCdxmeS0vGfyLH_Az5AJvhGJoB5qE0ozvCzW23ni0R-9GsDf0y-mSLEf9YrNTpxynfDJPA8GOmYhB69PYIDvidyXc2ONqKkI0f82TRLgq/s1600/PhotoTransition.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0CD7nO6Okc4HHdt8KOqHKHWju9olf6sfuEcXuCdxmeS0vGfyLH_Az5AJvhGJoB5qE0ozvCzW23ni0R-9GsDf0y-mSLEf9YrNTpxynfDJPA8GOmYhB69PYIDvidyXc2ONqKkI0f82TRLgq/s400/PhotoTransition.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
then printed it out on my LASER printer onto BeePaper 110# Artist Marker paper</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then using my Copics and the original photo as my guide, I colored it to THIS:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZ2G4ltt3fDoBgXzFCjONMZKT-6LUw3BZnEizNCiJdpQppzq5grQn1NhTQqopJkf3xrRXV_un3TwKfPMG8mIPVYdEYkyvsa94fNpUEBJ3S6smhxmL_o-XsDM1cpfBcZy_SNM-iDO-mDXMy/s1600/RooCopic.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZ2G4ltt3fDoBgXzFCjONMZKT-6LUw3BZnEizNCiJdpQppzq5grQn1NhTQqopJkf3xrRXV_un3TwKfPMG8mIPVYdEYkyvsa94fNpUEBJ3S6smhxmL_o-XsDM1cpfBcZy_SNM-iDO-mDXMy/s400/RooCopic.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
I did the other grandson too so I can frame them for my daughter for Valentines.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiwEfkpSYjz_u9LteUorAzY0qVXBd3srPYDFZpIXK2IAwgYOO-22roqpI-5xD28C97IRCkG47FAhcBKb3L2cDc62NpatDaquieEkdS9M35dj-rJL4EKjNeqGNn24jBDRFFu9W5Iyqa65rD/s1600/BooBooCopic.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiwEfkpSYjz_u9LteUorAzY0qVXBd3srPYDFZpIXK2IAwgYOO-22roqpI-5xD28C97IRCkG47FAhcBKb3L2cDc62NpatDaquieEkdS9M35dj-rJL4EKjNeqGNn24jBDRFFu9W5Iyqa65rD/s400/BooBooCopic.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I need some practice but I am pretty happy with this first attempt.<br />
<br />
and a self portrait...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizFDdsBetHZ-0V2b2Zfqo7_6tEXnpO15wZqIiogKIhMIzo8XMJ55iCUN_KivODRT-wm2Lqvq_9MTwGRQ_Nq3KS1vEH3K2XR0y9aH4KBiv7WNQY4nUkn9un8f6ltHmLG_E-SJia9OJKlpuf/s1600/KymberleeCopic.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizFDdsBetHZ-0V2b2Zfqo7_6tEXnpO15wZqIiogKIhMIzo8XMJ55iCUN_KivODRT-wm2Lqvq_9MTwGRQ_Nq3KS1vEH3K2XR0y9aH4KBiv7WNQY4nUkn9un8f6ltHmLG_E-SJia9OJKlpuf/s200/KymberleeCopic.JPG" width="150" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now grab your favorite photograph and your markers and don't be scurrrrred...GO FOR IT!!! </div>

This is Elise again from The Gypsy in Us, <a href="http://thegypsyinus.blogspot.com/">http://thegypsyinus.blogspot.com/</a>! I am so happy to be here this weekend with a great challenge to just use your stuff! At first I thought this would be a challenge to use chipboard, so I did. As I was working on my project, I thought to myself that the chipboard is really not that prevalent, so I figured I would make the challenge to use glitter, so I put glitter on my project. Whelp, that old brain of mine starting thinking again, dangerous, I know, and I added a button thinking the challenge could be to use buttons. Aw heck....just use your stuff!!!!<br />
<br />
I am still working on Valentine's Day (it is my favorite crafting holiday! I love pink and red!). Not sure if you know or not, but my daughter, Lizzy and I are having a Valentine's Day Tea Party for some friends of ours. I already made some stuff which you can see on my blog, but thought a cute favor for the girls would be a picture to remember the day with (sorry Allison if that that is not a good sentence...can't remember if you are supposed to end a sentence with "with" or not!) Since I got the greatest little polaroid camera for Christmas (well actually it is Fuji, but who cares?!) that takes the cutest size pictures, I decided to design a frame to fit the picture.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8jU2xk-20gHvL9drxPFPrEuPfHsdwBoQavk6NWb5gxFz5H_ObgF_740w9xVn3TyF1IRidn5utjWP-OHinR9WMOerA_ELp9rEIAJwmsoHBtUnAzeC3SC4kkdn5YoApFqsCAl2yh3rnmvg/s1600/DSC_0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8jU2xk-20gHvL9drxPFPrEuPfHsdwBoQavk6NWb5gxFz5H_ObgF_740w9xVn3TyF1IRidn5utjWP-OHinR9WMOerA_ELp9rEIAJwmsoHBtUnAzeC3SC4kkdn5YoApFqsCAl2yh3rnmvg/s320/DSC_0002.JPG" width="212" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>I used the <b>Cricut Fancy Frames</b> cart and cut the simple rectangle frame out at 3 inches (that is actually the length of the picture you are using)....then I cut the rectangle border at 3 inches as well....you really can't see the border very well in the picture, but it pops on the frame. All of the paper I used is from <b>Papertreyink.com.</b> I used that red double sided tape all around the rectangle border and glittered it using <b>Stickles diamond glitter</b> (yes, I said Stickles glitter! I am lucky enough to live about 20 minutes from where <b>Ranger</b> is located and every fall they have a warehouse sale which is where I found that awesome stuff!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj08o4LorPNeoK9t3_r1rcFNSIcqQVj3MDD8Hnmwq_WFJx8AkoKfe6J2riixHc6h_99QbvoxZuuSHYsW4atds2nCJfLleAezO8RCzP-T4dddKP6fXwR_etFZh00RGkMhZFliPK6V2lIMcU/s1600/DSC_0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj08o4LorPNeoK9t3_r1rcFNSIcqQVj3MDD8Hnmwq_WFJx8AkoKfe6J2riixHc6h_99QbvoxZuuSHYsW4atds2nCJfLleAezO8RCzP-T4dddKP6fXwR_etFZh00RGkMhZFliPK6V2lIMcU/s320/DSC_0001.JPG" width="212" /></a></div>From this side view you can see that I cut the verticle easle frame out of chipboard. I used my regular blade and only had to do 2 cuts to get it through. By the way, I cut this piece at 4.5 inches. I also just manually cut some chipboard to the size of the frame and glued the patterned paper to that....I made sure to leave the top open so i could slide the picture in although you could just put the picture in before gluing the paper to the chipboard. I left the opening because I plan to take pictures of the girls during the party, slide them in the frame and voila! The heart was cut using the Imagine standard heart that comes loaded on the machine. I cut it at 1.5 inches and ran it through the <b>Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder</b>. I punched holes in the middle for the bakers twine and button and adhered the whole shebang with a pop dot. And there you have it.....a cute little Valentine's Day frame.<br />

It's me - quickly stopping in for the monthly sketch challenge. I do have to apologize - I only have one sketch to share with you this month - but I have decided that I will not feel guilty about it. I got done what I could and that is the best I could do for right now. I hope you are okay with it too!<br />
<br />
I have recently become enamored with digital stamps, but alas - I have no real markers, just some watercolor markers and pencils. *SIGH* I hope to someday change this situation but don't see it happening any time in the very near future. Until then I shall have to be content with my pencils and my Crayolas and drooling over the video of the new Tim Holtz markers from CHA. Now that I am done whining - onto my card sketch!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAHWustAD-XC8suPqh4I35_PrM6LiVpAX1s1dKoRI4m5wn_5DlH3RoTX2X3B4ywggzkVIUCbAQWXWyUNVG8XuRdkeRYBhx_MmgLCPybwxtFLwH3lR2gEZc00NA2ef6kLDF4liSgSFnICo/s1600/FebruaryCard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAHWustAD-XC8suPqh4I35_PrM6LiVpAX1s1dKoRI4m5wn_5DlH3RoTX2X3B4ywggzkVIUCbAQWXWyUNVG8XuRdkeRYBhx_MmgLCPybwxtFLwH3lR2gEZc00NA2ef6kLDF4liSgSFnICo/s320/FebruaryCard.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><br />
And now for my card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTbfqGtFeQ9guBZ_EBSSqu1V_ZOwlNVtAxce0LWpZI_MA8OQ_a5aGhiDCU5BdJxJ8oDSqCFUDd-pfyfzIUnbBlqQ8Rx3vqrtAHuLPhVPqaPxpyh4SdxDH8Gx7lN6QLDZJgGVXTuJqjpQA/s1600/101_2891.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTbfqGtFeQ9guBZ_EBSSqu1V_ZOwlNVtAxce0LWpZI_MA8OQ_a5aGhiDCU5BdJxJ8oDSqCFUDd-pfyfzIUnbBlqQ8Rx3vqrtAHuLPhVPqaPxpyh4SdxDH8Gx7lN6QLDZJgGVXTuJqjpQA/s320/101_2891.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><br />
I used a card base from Damask Decor cut at 5 inches. The adorable little baby is from <a href="http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/">Mo's Digital Pencil Too</a> and I am absolutely enamored of her work - many thanks to Kymberlee for gifting me with this image. I colored him with my pencils (not my Crayolas) and then added a ribbon and a ribbon tag. I finally finished off with some adhesive pearls. This card was for a shower for a good friend and I created a few other gifts that I hope to get up on my personal blog this weekend (fingers crossed!).<br />
<br />
So your sketch challenge for this month is to incorporate a stamped or even a printed image into your card (or layout - you know we aren't picky) - and maybe next month I will have a layout for you! Happy Crafting!<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Kymberlee here from <a href="http://www.thepapermidwife.com/">The Paper Midwife</a>. This is my first post here at Paper Craft Weekend Challenge as I totally spaced off the my original first posting date. OOPS! Allison and Caroline were sweethearts to forgive me AND gave me another chance to redeem myself. I am so blessed to call these ladies friends. For those of you that don't know me, I am having a crafting crisis right now. My brother has taken up temporary residence in my craft studio. This is agonizing for me as my studio is my safe haven in my crazy busy life.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Okay enough with the idle chatter, lets get on to today's challenge which is - What can YOU do with an old magazine?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I was cleaning up the house today with my husband's "help" and he says "Gee it is too bad you can't find something CRAFTY to do with ALL these magazines your have piled up!" Okay, butt head CHALLENGE ON! By the way... I had TWO magazine sitting beside me (eye roll)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So here is what I did with 1 Old magazine, a pair of scissors and my ATG - </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0z1YTFbe0xlK54aaaZtGaZSyAFt_Ei0R3Lk3ALAAno1QZ99DbkURv5lVewXo5u_tBWQU_7Xj2986Zr644BtUEPQbUMmrxanW9Tepmi3oMXkdqXEr4MW0qdUUURRVHrcA1aknJNMlK1vPr/s1600/Roo+015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="261" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0z1YTFbe0xlK54aaaZtGaZSyAFt_Ei0R3Lk3ALAAno1QZ99DbkURv5lVewXo5u_tBWQU_7Xj2986Zr644BtUEPQbUMmrxanW9Tepmi3oMXkdqXEr4MW0qdUUURRVHrcA1aknJNMlK1vPr/s320/Roo+015.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
First I ripped the front and back cover off the magazines because with this particular magazine they are a little thicker. Then I tore each individual page out and anything that had GREEN on it I set it to the side in another stack.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipnp1W1lvlE0kl1-e_hX1SSJq-sHfWWs0vroVNbrXghyphenhyphenqcO6FUP9zo92r2kgGsUQH3FuT1dQDYbyNw_bj-DIaImynf-gjgsCfBXC-Bn6weArhNMnHAOx0DItLsb1SZvM0yL_bBSCGSfhgx/s1600/Roo+017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="258" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipnp1W1lvlE0kl1-e_hX1SSJq-sHfWWs0vroVNbrXghyphenhyphenqcO6FUP9zo92r2kgGsUQH3FuT1dQDYbyNw_bj-DIaImynf-gjgsCfBXC-Bn6weArhNMnHAOx0DItLsb1SZvM0yL_bBSCGSfhgx/s400/Roo+017.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I then cut the covers and inserts into a heart shape and layered them for strength. This was my base</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQmAzl7irI2OQtWein58zDprY5MNjLhH_zGBYuwbD00tuW3gW0DkxztI8V4KKxsiAZ6wGaRcT9R_MX3KZnILjBxl99gO0YYhDAP2ZPLKA-icEAMdsX1ZQC7btptXOr5YrvytHW7nzYAI5J/s1600/Roo+016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="241" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQmAzl7irI2OQtWein58zDprY5MNjLhH_zGBYuwbD00tuW3gW0DkxztI8V4KKxsiAZ6wGaRcT9R_MX3KZnILjBxl99gO0YYhDAP2ZPLKA-icEAMdsX1ZQC7btptXOr5YrvytHW7nzYAI5J/s400/Roo+016.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I cut the full sheets in half</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyedwlNUcwrFJhiRhf6GUS742_eYE7dizRlsE7E1dAfMycl68WFPyHk0_7uYKx7pn5BlHsP6qltOJzFQGLA3MTN4Oe4DTTW_PRiO2TJB8d6Kf3sUz6RUrA4Fajhx0YdM3MbD_kLhJpSxaG/s1600/Roo+018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyedwlNUcwrFJhiRhf6GUS742_eYE7dizRlsE7E1dAfMycl68WFPyHk0_7uYKx7pn5BlHsP6qltOJzFQGLA3MTN4Oe4DTTW_PRiO2TJB8d6Kf3sUz6RUrA4Fajhx0YdM3MbD_kLhJpSxaG/s400/Roo+018.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiIfqQlWV12j72P3aUupacvU5WZ-VqxpoyCVYtg-JdPhfRiipKtbJjJJoiLjArHNihgQ6rGTlCPWgtypaAiD9JzCu31LFPWmTbuMiZEpsxQ8mYt9uKTBd5koNeI3_pu5BLWORoIVh4haYS/s1600/Roo+019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiIfqQlWV12j72P3aUupacvU5WZ-VqxpoyCVYtg-JdPhfRiipKtbJjJJoiLjArHNihgQ6rGTlCPWgtypaAiD9JzCu31LFPWmTbuMiZEpsxQ8mYt9uKTBd5koNeI3_pu5BLWORoIVh4haYS/s400/Roo+019.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I folded up each strip</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzMuMEJr147WvFiQflhmmlDAdQsL9AX7DpzJDo21SuXjm2lbt83cmKVGz6-T5dJCGrpME8WJJnX8t2i3M-mZJECqQi3W9rRG3kDj9WMExD-KFLOSsNnbDmsvdGpvOK0C5dCyhTtxlU1pRM/s1600/Roo+021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzMuMEJr147WvFiQflhmmlDAdQsL9AX7DpzJDo21SuXjm2lbt83cmKVGz6-T5dJCGrpME8WJJnX8t2i3M-mZJECqQi3W9rRG3kDj9WMExD-KFLOSsNnbDmsvdGpvOK0C5dCyhTtxlU1pRM/s400/Roo+021.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and rolled the tri-folded strips into "flowers"</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHQQE35FiqJALjOrPCQaty_GxJquiCSZxs5c9qNQYkGND_oaQxLaiQJozmdTKjyTeGuZoLkLQjYiqfaz1-j9XUjcKp5b6Ky4F0nC1UX0tkoLgiceTDvh4-G1iI-zqDvKY7G2ffpK5I-3tT/s1600/Roo+020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHQQE35FiqJALjOrPCQaty_GxJquiCSZxs5c9qNQYkGND_oaQxLaiQJozmdTKjyTeGuZoLkLQjYiqfaz1-j9XUjcKp5b6Ky4F0nC1UX0tkoLgiceTDvh4-G1iI-zqDvKY7G2ffpK5I-3tT/s400/Roo+020.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used my ATG to roll a grid onto my heart shape and then started adding my "flowers"</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs1f2A-FQRkImPlAgcqCazAuXEU0Ygc5FaQPPJ2ZX6yw2E0-51bsR3VvFu4a3CNEdwbT7_4J9t9ehyphenhyphen4JACz_MgEtpJpnn86NDbfXadUJNX0eOr5tnBor4RFqCaOkwkdlVK_yk3Zf7L_6lZ/s1600/Roo+023.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs1f2A-FQRkImPlAgcqCazAuXEU0Ygc5FaQPPJ2ZX6yw2E0-51bsR3VvFu4a3CNEdwbT7_4J9t9ehyphenhyphen4JACz_MgEtpJpnn86NDbfXadUJNX0eOr5tnBor4RFqCaOkwkdlVK_yk3Zf7L_6lZ/s400/Roo+023.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the green pages I set aside to work them into folded "leaves"</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Added a bow I fashioned from a pink colorful page and an image I colored</div>

My name is E<b>lise, a.k.a. Lizzieming</b> and I am so thrilled to be contributing to this wonderful blog. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Today's project is my <b>Valentine's Day Wreath</b>. I love making home decor projects with paper and wreaths have become my "thing"! Here is a picture of the ingredients I used to make this project:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrKBl1n_ZoU-WlMQNK9rTcRcwrp5KynbI-2CfPbVCZUtEMifqw_xbXBEwdN8n37DlroxQgx350Cu5uwGhaXTvV_c-XseecauufetmkqW_YB56sVf4r_1JfMzIUZbJTIEKiAp9-Lrs1y6Q/s1600/DSC_0294.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrKBl1n_ZoU-WlMQNK9rTcRcwrp5KynbI-2CfPbVCZUtEMifqw_xbXBEwdN8n37DlroxQgx350Cu5uwGhaXTvV_c-XseecauufetmkqW_YB56sVf4r_1JfMzIUZbJTIEKiAp9-Lrs1y6Q/s320/DSC_0294.JPG" width="212" /></a></div>As you can see, I used <b>My Mind's Eye Lovenest paper</b>, a styrofoam wreath, ribbon (which I changed after I took this picture LOL), my <b>Epiphany</b> badge maker (for the rosette centers), and straight pins. I wrapped the ribbon around the wreath, totally covering it. Then I put my Cricut to work....I used <b>Ribbons and Rosettes</b> Cartridge for all of the rosettes, <b>Lyrical Letters</b> for the greeting (Celebrate Love) and I honestly can't remember which cart I used for the hearts, but any heart will do! Here are some pics of the cuts:<br />

Use the straight pins to attach to wreath....once they are pushed in, they stay very secure. I like to use sheer ribbon to hang the wreath. Here is the finished product! This one hangs on my front door in between the storm door and the main door so it doesn't get damaged from the elements. <br />

But in case you haven't noticed from the new faces you are seeing on a regular basis, this is the craziest time of year for me - I will be working 5-6 days a week and I won't be able to give this blog the attention it deserves so we will be getting a little help from our friends.<br />
<br />
So with a little help from random.org the winner of the Designer's Calender cartridge from the Technique Tuesday this month is.....<br />

<br />
Hello Readers <br />
This is Pam from <a href="http://papillondigitaldesigns.com/">Papillon Digital Designs</a>. Thanks Carolyn and Allison for having me on today.<br />
Today's project challenge is doing "Something New/Something inspiring"<br />
I love the above quote as it is especially apt today as not only am I doing a Layout which is not in my comfort zone but my layout subject is Mine - Independence Mine - Alaska.<br />
My layout is an interactive-spinner layout. I was inspired by hot of the press spinner template. But I did not like the heart and oval shapes that came with. So decided to use cameo for making my own.<br />
Here is the layout<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTKZIjIdLr0Ht0n92hNL5EdlhO8sb7x-0PERDq1RMYh4ScxUWem0movGlOVh7DGJpGIy0_Q5X_lZufZvJWYn225fRArarcs6EncdHmlewKYjqV-Evvh5dq-FoPVOryRuvD0yk-6Tanxzw/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTKZIjIdLr0Ht0n92hNL5EdlhO8sb7x-0PERDq1RMYh4ScxUWem0movGlOVh7DGJpGIy0_Q5X_lZufZvJWYn225fRArarcs6EncdHmlewKYjqV-Evvh5dq-FoPVOryRuvD0yk-6Tanxzw/s400/1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Now I will be garrulous and try to explain both how and why I chose to do what I did as I go along. <br />
First thing I did was make a silhouette file <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc77kTfHVCDJJ8IHW2hQvW469gyX8kDMaBDM4zFfSSlh_RL9_jpbs2E7tsSBOTp6yQOoAPc29lKOEanCWkPpALnqYNfTdwIGcYo3Eum3lKPUUH9klXNQlfT9Uw16ALVSabfYX72jDDxRc/s1600/2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc77kTfHVCDJJ8IHW2hQvW469gyX8kDMaBDM4zFfSSlh_RL9_jpbs2E7tsSBOTp6yQOoAPc29lKOEanCWkPpALnqYNfTdwIGcYo3Eum3lKPUUH9klXNQlfT9Uw16ALVSabfYX72jDDxRc/s320/2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The white spinner wheel is cut as a template so that you can put a brad and then turn it to mark the frame for the photos on the actual spinner wheel. The frame on the spinner is 1/4 " lesser than the opening on the layout to give it a mat effect ( I used 3x2 photos so the opening on top is 3-1/4" x 2 -1/4". Now these pictures will maybe show what I am talking about better.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So after you come to this stage just attach a foam to the spinner. Make sure if you are using foam dots/pop dots to dust the outer side with powder so that it does not stick to the top of the layout for then it will not spin. Then using a brad assemble the layout.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEsMk3aHFMF2U7yliU13VQTaX8tSS3WPty9G4YyyWDj7J2G0MJVnJrwrRJtHmH79ipcR8-TX0pfAExy7qwy8_McvuDqTXpE8UVpcv3VCqLR4j5ylKyXxWrdNOkgJaa1ZM6WjmJXKvJONk/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="211" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEsMk3aHFMF2U7yliU13VQTaX8tSS3WPty9G4YyyWDj7J2G0MJVnJrwrRJtHmH79ipcR8-TX0pfAExy7qwy8_McvuDqTXpE8UVpcv3VCqLR4j5ylKyXxWrdNOkgJaa1ZM6WjmJXKvJONk/s320/7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now my choice of papers. Since the pictures were more of blues I decided to use a red orange pattern to give a contrast to the pictures. I also decided that the plaid design will kind of give a solid feeling as the subject matter is a mine. That's why I did not round the corners too. But I needed some curves though not dominant but as an accent. So I decided to make a kind of mountain pattern on another pattern paper. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now for the embellishments. I took some of the pictures itself and traced it on silhouette studio and cropped it and did a print and cut. I also took some gold coin and silver bar images from online and did the same. I did not find a gold dust bottle souvenir image so decided to make my own using some circles and rounded square. After cutting them out with cameo then for the first time I took out my yourstory and then using a scotch hot laminating sheet from walmart - laminated all the cut outs. It gives it a nice sticker effect as I did not want to use glossy accents. Then I took perfect pearls and with some water (for setting the perfect pearls) and brush applied some gold copper and silver color to get a nice shine in some areas. They look lovely at an angle. I also cut some trees and stickled the tree and the title. Then I used a Martha Stewart triangle punch (which I had got from walmart way back) for border and then attached a gold ribbon (Costco) to it. Some metal flowers and leaves and suede leather bows completed the rest . </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is a closer look at the layout. I still have to fill in the journaling on the white strips</div>

So today's challenge on do something new is to do <strong>a card or layout which is interactive</strong> - be it a spinner like this or an accordion fold or a hidden tag. One good resource other than the web of course is the book - <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Jeanette-Lynton/dp/1423604393/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1326673424&sr=1-2">Magic by Jeanette Lynton.</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thank you all for reading</div>

Happy Friday everyone! It's Sabrina from <a href="http://sabrioletdesigns.blogspot.com/">Sabriolet Designs.</a> I actually had a fairly productive week for once, and hey, I got a lot of crafty projects completed this week. Go Sabrina! So today is my day to post the first of your Weekend Challenges. And here it is - Use those Alphabets! You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones you picked up at the craft store because they were just so cute and you had to have them. If you are anything like me they spend most of their time sitting in a drawer, only occasionally pulled out and even more rarely used. So, I decided to challenge myself to use some of those alphabets on my page today. And of course I got carried away and used a bunch more of pre-made embellishments. But that's what happens when you finally pay attention to what you have! Here is the page:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

I know you all likely have that stash of brads that you just had to buy and never ended up using. Time to dust them off and put them to use.<br />
<br />
I had a stash of button brads that would be cute for baby pages or cards, but we're past that stage, so it's time to do something with them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixOFHsfXX2CIi239sakBw9Qjbq25GNv0omBqwK7J-Q6OOupkKcnnT_Da4NFVCG40-0PJv6SuM7AaoCpOHjUonx1DPXDdOGo7tt__vVcnUJhsPAWNAnryRcveoKELPqoLlYVhEGtySGbvdr/s1600/BradHeart.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixOFHsfXX2CIi239sakBw9Qjbq25GNv0omBqwK7J-Q6OOupkKcnnT_Da4NFVCG40-0PJv6SuM7AaoCpOHjUonx1DPXDdOGo7tt__vVcnUJhsPAWNAnryRcveoKELPqoLlYVhEGtySGbvdr/s400/BradHeart.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I cut the heart card from Wild Card which has a heart made out of holes for stitching on the front. Turns out they're perfect for brads too! I added one bling brad to the top center and used up a large number of brads to fill up the rest of the heart. I then put this over another card to hide the brad backs (the shadow is because it's not glued down yet) and added a sticker of a sentiment (need to use those up too, but that's for another time).<br />
<br />
So, what brads to you need to use up?<br />
<br />

<br />
This is Michelle from <a href="http://ladyofleisureink.blogspot.com/">Lady of Leisure Ink</a>, making my debut as a guest designer here on Paper Craft Weekend Challenge. Thank you so much Allison and Caroline for giving me this opportunity. I really am very new to this whole blogging world, and probably would not have even started my own blog had it not been for some 'threats' (I mean 'encouraging' ) words from a few friends (you know who you are.) All that having been said, let's get on with the challenge.<br />
<br />
As tempted as I was to go out and buy something new to try for this post, I stayed true to the theme and used my stash - embossing folders and powders. Here is my project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2OxUL-TovP1tLD6BsnUUlKoEQ11ZUfBiZL-x3qlTOMhLuxHB6aY9yTHaSl2KOPom3Gqvs9gkmV8zR0-eJbNzJCgDR7FUe2yRqJGuyjsTEWlzkdVEvmHSOCd5FullQExwVHxjBofPVK04/s1600/IMG_1029.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2OxUL-TovP1tLD6BsnUUlKoEQ11ZUfBiZL-x3qlTOMhLuxHB6aY9yTHaSl2KOPom3Gqvs9gkmV8zR0-eJbNzJCgDR7FUe2yRqJGuyjsTEWlzkdVEvmHSOCd5FullQExwVHxjBofPVK04/s400/IMG_1029.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
This is not a completely new project, some of you may have seen this purse over on the Cricut message board, but I wanted to revamp it a bit and try a new technique - Faux Leather. I started with 2 handbag shapes from Kate's ABC's (height 5.09") Use the Gypsy to flip one bag and then weld the bottoms of the bags together with a rectangle from George (height 3.6" and width 1.86") Here is a screen shot of my Gypsy with the pattern ready to go.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdirv4kD7eKA522bIPZjvo3dypjfh-EVBAo7-LMF3Zs8r_9fsXzEgSN9gHO0248zX1brpyLzjW66NqC-ZVK7abnjJJK9xhPyuJNYvpxdByFTZv_X68lw0H6lf7AiHN_slfOZIg21ePoHo/s1600/IMG_1012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdirv4kD7eKA522bIPZjvo3dypjfh-EVBAo7-LMF3Zs8r_9fsXzEgSN9gHO0248zX1brpyLzjW66NqC-ZVK7abnjJJK9xhPyuJNYvpxdByFTZv_X68lw0H6lf7AiHN_slfOZIg21ePoHo/s400/IMG_1012.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
The other pieces to cut out (keeping the same height) are the handles and the handbag flap. Once all the pieces are cut you need to make an accordion fold on the rectangle like this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_fLTTdjQlE7XO6KUr2nMPM9z_DKsW7hsmxx6_1BfGNCK0-ncJd5Dv4Hrz71ztfUXpYaOT39nj06h9Ijk9MSUUffX27r9-dN9yP4T-oav1vUGHhslVP6gaTk4ak8Nosn_ivB5UlsWJ2D4/s1600/IMG_1019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_fLTTdjQlE7XO6KUr2nMPM9z_DKsW7hsmxx6_1BfGNCK0-ncJd5Dv4Hrz71ztfUXpYaOT39nj06h9Ijk9MSUUffX27r9-dN9yP4T-oav1vUGHhslVP6gaTk4ak8Nosn_ivB5UlsWJ2D4/s400/IMG_1019.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Now we get to the embossing part, take your embossing folder and run each side of the handbag through a cuttlebug/sizzix machine. I used the 'Bubble' folder, but the 'Mosaic' folder works even better. Once the hand bag is embossed take an ink pad and randomly rub across the whole bag, including the flap.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0a4U43fpET0vk1KAeoPVG5ZCcbsc2O06cEvgcmWD_EdrHHTpjTB27oVUpI7zUiqGD9IRrkvf5Hz-pPx04eb1Lb5QISIlbHJhXpB7un8vqZUZ0MJ1N2-ImOLRv4WNCyWdAn0sI_hLCB6g/s1600/IMG_1023.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0a4U43fpET0vk1KAeoPVG5ZCcbsc2O06cEvgcmWD_EdrHHTpjTB27oVUpI7zUiqGD9IRrkvf5Hz-pPx04eb1Lb5QISIlbHJhXpB7un8vqZUZ0MJ1N2-ImOLRv4WNCyWdAn0sI_hLCB6g/s400/IMG_1023.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Next, cover the one side of the bag with Versamark, sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat set. It is much easier to do this one side at a time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1pAOl3KK4KA8KTsuCNdFZt_zTiX_0hS5kUiJOMgQwBIswgQtowFq3GC3oLPMcXTHquadjE4qf9LbOmlan9GlPJ6Khllscb7wz_JqhZwrAe4uyNOrGQ8jEE3bEzbNw4bliSIHl4e8dQak/s1600/IMG_1026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1pAOl3KK4KA8KTsuCNdFZt_zTiX_0hS5kUiJOMgQwBIswgQtowFq3GC3oLPMcXTHquadjE4qf9LbOmlan9GlPJ6Khllscb7wz_JqhZwrAe4uyNOrGQ8jEE3bEzbNw4bliSIHl4e8dQak/s400/IMG_1026.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Attach the handles and flap, (I also used a brad for the 'clasp') Here is a look at how I finished off the inside (the velcro dots come in very handy for keeping the card closed.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv_rCFSEHEJj8tiWzlFXOBE8NgCmMWav_oqLzRNCcPqDFaCcCOvd3S0lXo4WHAHGF9LMU3k-oe_CThYiNvtM75zOzyjaouQktnEWtBe9NZnDvYgyO06na8ha5dbza9YmagzVeALP7BMBI/s1600/IMG_1031.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv_rCFSEHEJj8tiWzlFXOBE8NgCmMWav_oqLzRNCcPqDFaCcCOvd3S0lXo4WHAHGF9LMU3k-oe_CThYiNvtM75zOzyjaouQktnEWtBe9NZnDvYgyO06na8ha5dbza9YmagzVeALP7BMBI/s400/IMG_1031.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><br />

I hope you will join in the challenge this weekend if you are able, and post your project using the link below. Thanks once again Allison and Caroline for inviting me in to be guest designer.<br />
