I rarely buy card crafting magazines, because I usually find that I like several cards in the edition but never have the supplies to make them. When I was shopping the other week I picked up a copy of Paper Crafts Stamp It 3 Ways - because one of the cards on the front 'caught my eye'. Sure enough I did not have the rubber stamp needed for this, and despite several emails to the stamp company (who have not replied,) it doesn't look like I'll be getting it anytime soon. So I decided to go a different route and break out a stencil.
Here is the stencil I used.
Then I reached for my distress stamp pad and dauber.
The finished stenciling looked like this.
Not the most exciting, is it? But after taking my paper cutter to it, adding a Stampin' Up stamp (Sweet Talk) and a little bit of ribbon - here is the finished card.
A simple card - just in time for my wedding anniversary.
I hope I have encouraged you to dig through your supplies and dust off those old stencils to create - we'd love to see, please use the linky tool to share with us.
Until next time (if they'll have me back!)
Michelle
That is a really cool idea. It would also be fun to do with a wood grain embossing folder.
ReplyDeleteI love that stencil. I used my stash and didn't find any stencils but I DID find stickers to use. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSo very clever, Michelle! I don't have any stencils either, but just might try to improvise something!
ReplyDeleteLove how the card turned out! Who knew stencils could make such a great card!
