Use Your Stash!  Washi Tape

Hi Everyone...Elise here with a Use Your Stash Challenge Sunday edition!

If you are anything like me, when you find a cute product, you have to have it in as many colors/patterns you can find!  Well, a while ago I happened upon Washi tape - it's tape that is kind of like really pretty masking tape...I found an online source and ordered some.  I also found sound in my various expeditions to the craft stores.  I purchased a bunch - see picture:
I got them home and right into a drawer they went, never to be used!  Until today that is.  I decided they would make a really cool background for a card.  I took a 4 x 6 piece of Dusty Durango from Stampin Up  and proceeded to lay the tape diagonally on the paper with a little space in between each pattern:

Once I had the whole paper covered, I took my scissors and cut the edges like so:

Once I got the whole piece cut, I inked the edges with Dusty Durango ink and put glued it to a card base.
I have this stamp set from Paper Trey Ink called, Quilter's Sampler.  I thought the sentiment went perfectly with the tape measure tape (if you can't read it, it says "friendship is sewn with love and measured by kindness).  I stamped the thread spool with the Dusty Durango ink and the sentiment with black ink.  Framed that with black paper and popped it up with Stampin Up Dimensionals  and voila ` here is the finished project!

Let's see what you can do with your tape.  If you don't have tape, you can do the same sort of background with patterned paper or even ribbon.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!

  4. Darn it that's cute. I thought this was supposed to be 'use your stash' not 'make Michelle go out and buy more'. TFS - I think ;)
